Rest Stops
For two days, my fitness tracker has been telling me to take a rest day. But it’s hard to do right now since so many albergues still haven’t opened for the season. Yesterday we only walked 8km but we also climbed up over 650 meters into the mountains so it wasn’t a “take it easy” kind of day.
So today, even though we were walking 21km, I resolved to at least take some breaks and try and stop and sit on every bench we saw.
This turned out to be difficult in the morning due to the weather. We woke to a misty spookiness, and while I was plenty warm while walking up and down the ridge line, stopping left me quite cold.
As the day went on, we started to walk down the mountains and into cute little valley towns, with houses that had tractors and animals on the bottom floors and plots of farmland just at the edge of town. It was lovely and pastoral but also a bit…manure perfumed…and the accompanying bugs made it a bit tough to sit and relax.
So I wasn’t particularly successful at resting today, but below are pictures of what I saw every time I sat down to rest.

Who knew you could build a shed on cement mushrooms!!! Very cool
Thanks for your wonderful pictures. And Happy Trails !
